The holiday of Shavuot is the holiday that celebrates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai.
There are three leaders who are directly associated with the holiday, Moses, King David, and the Ba'al Shem Tov.
Moses is the leader who received and gave the Torah to the people. The Talmud says that King David died on Shavuot and the Ba'al Shem Tov as well ascended the heavens on this day.
